possible to move entropys download directory?

Post by MrSatchmoo » Fri Jan 10, 2014 9:21

Hi all,

my root-directory is getting full. I can't upgrade anymore, as my /var is on root. Is there a way to tell entropy to download and store the packages in a different directory?
I tried to look at the files in /etc/entropy but I'm not getting any smarter doing it. :?

Well, you can cleanup logfiles in /var Some logfiles can become huge.
Also cleanup Entropy's downloaded packages by enter:

Code: Select all

equo cleanup

Code: Select all

equo cache clean
Further, take a good look at your root-dir for garbage., if /home isn't a seperate partition, look there too for garbage.
Remove unnecessary Installed programs you really never use.

Basically, almost every mountpoint can be moved to another partition, as long as you let the system "know" about the new location.
for moving /var to another partition, please see:
