Rigo & Calibre not working after kde upgrade [Solved]

Postby HenryP » Sun Oct 13, 2013 4:38

Hi,

Kind of new to Sabayon... hopefully, I'm learning something, but just had a rather large upgrade of Sabayon/KDE, etc.(including kernel)... Now Rigo & Calibre will not load/function. This is the output when I try to run them in the terminal:

For Calibre:
Code: Select all
 $ calibre
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/calibre", line 20, in <module>
    sys.exit(main())
  File "/usr/lib64/calibre/calibre/gui2/main.py", line 448, in main
    gui_debug=gui_debug)
  File "/usr/lib64/calibre/calibre/gui2/main.py", line 316, in run_gui
    from calibre.gui2.ui import Main
  File "/usr/lib64/calibre/calibre/gui2/ui.py", line 32, in <module>
    from calibre.gui2.widgets import ProgressIndicator
  File "/usr/lib64/calibre/calibre/gui2/widgets.py", line 21, in <module>
    from calibre.gui2.progress_indicator import ProgressIndicator as _ProgressIndicator
  File "/usr/lib64/calibre/calibre/gui2/progress_indicator/__init__.py", line 15, in <module>
    pi_error)
RuntimeError: Failed to load the Progress Indicator plugin: the sip module implements API v10.0 to v10.1 but the progress_indicator module requires API v9.2

For Rigo:
Code: Select all
$ rigo

** (rigo:7207): WARNING **: Couldn't register with accessibility bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

AttributeError: 'TerminalWidget' object has no attribute 'set_background_transparent'

& for Rigo, via terminal, it crashed (locked up) after the above out put.

Any help rectifying this situation would be appreciated.

HenryP

P.s., there may be other problems... (hoping not), so I'll now be on the lookout.

Well Henry. The thing to do is not panic. Read the forum postings and you'll see the problem with Rigo and an answer, also maybe there is a something about calibre somewhere.

I dont know why members of these forums feel the need to be so unhelpful. Henry check out this thread:

Thanks much Uzi! (& I think NoSavy is correct when they say "don't panic," I say that all the time, to myself, & others).

I went to the link you gave, followed the instructions, & IT SOLVED THE RIGO problem! :bounce: Now onto the Calibre problem.
