Thanks for your assistance!

 (I am a simple hen  )

When I do:

Code: Select all

eselect fontconfig set 3
It gives the message:
  • Action 3 unknown
    exiting
but your command brought me to this link
http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Fontconfig

is it maybe?:

Code: Select all

eselect fontconfig enable 3
no change so far

your problem seems in the Cairo Dock's packages, not in the system.

The Sabayon's default installer, is Entropy. command is equo and the new GUI is Rigo, Sulfur is obsolete.

Portage can be used, can be mixed, but this is not reccomended for begginers.because some edition of configuration files is mandatory, or the system may be turned useless ou propose downgrades, instead of upgrades.

ok, thanks for the explanation!
I only use equo or entropy store (Sulfur) although absolete because the software browsing is so much better as in Rigo.

Seems I have to wait for a new version to arrive before cairo-dock maybe work or am I wrong?

I will wait until new cairo-dock packages will be available to solve the issue.

I verified, seems to me that the Errors are because the old version of Cairo-Dock needs some packages that were, updated. and therefore no more suitable for old Cairo-Dock.

I tested a compiled new Cairo-Dock version, and this works.

I commented in the existing request for upgrading Cairo-Dock:

https://bugs.sabayon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3914

Soon, I expected that the Team will prepare a new version of Cairo-Dock
