After update rootfs entry in grub wrong

Postby gluni » Sat May 14, 2011 7:41

hi there,

The problem is solved for me, but if this problem is something systematic someone might wanne look at it still.

after updating my system using beta12 of sulfur the rootfs entry in my grub.cfg was wrong. since there was a kernel update to the last kernel (2.6.38.6 from 2.6.38.5) i dont know if grub.cfg got rewritten wrongly or if something changed the UUID of my rootfs.
Date of update: 13 may, around 12am CEST.

i didnt change anything else during the update session.

To solve this:

Find out the UUID of your rootfs using the command:
Code: Select all
blkid
in the shell. then enter the found UUID in
Code: Select all
/boot/grub/grub.cfg

This happened again when upgrading from 2.6.38 to 2.6.39 doing only the kernel upgrade using kernel-switcher.

i use a ext4 boot partition and a btrfs root partition inside a virtualbox vm.

this also happened when uninstalling 2.6.38.

i dont wanne call this a bug since it might be only my system affected, but maybe someone else could have a look?

thx
