I searched your forums and foutn this...

Exact same issue for me as well. I re-installed Sabayon 5.1 multiple times and tried the same guide and it just wouldn't work. I had to ditch my attempt to install Sabayon and go back to Linux Mint. Very disappointed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Had same problem with clean install today I also followed
http://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?title ... t_to_do.3F
But had no luck, I also downloaded sys-apps:miscfiles-1.4.2-r1.tbz2 and sys-devel:gcc-4.4.2.tbz2 from http://www.sabayon.org/packages and still couldn't complete the updates

I made the mistake of copying sys-apps:miscfiles and sys-devel:gcc-4.4.2.tbz2 to /var/lib/entropy/packages/amd64/5/ they should have been copied to /var/lib/entropy/packages-nonfree/amd64/5/

After reading the message board in sulfur
I then in a root terminal typed
Code: Select all
equo install entropy equo --nodeps && equo upgrade

Started downloading 407 packages got as far as sys-devel:gcc-4.4.2.tbz2
I had problems downloading sys-devel:gcc-4.4.2.tbz2 so in same root terminal I typed
Code: Select all
equo install sys-devel/gcc-4.4.2 --fetch --nodeps

This continued to download the remainder of gcc-4.4.2 but does not install the file

I then in same root terminal typed equo install entropy equo --nodeps && equo upgrade and all was upgraded

Hope it helps
Joe

I had a similar problem. I ran equo update late last week and then equo install equo entropy sulfur. The process failed when equo was not able to match the checksum of sys-apps:miscfiles-1.4.2-r1.tbz2.

Since I've been running with this installation of Sabayon for 9 months I didn't want to follow the Fresh Install - What to do guide suggested in earlier posts.

Thanks to joeoden the answer is simple. Update sulfur first ignoring dependencies then continue. In this case after running
Code: Select all
equo install equo entropy sulfur --nodeps
I was able to start sulfur and just to prove this fixed my problem I updated sys-apps:miscfiles-1.4.2-r1.tbz2.

btw, love the new look of sulfur. Good job guys! :D
