Equo install/update fails on table packagesignatures[Solved]

Postby robjeffrey » Wed Jan 06, 2010 16:14

I was running 4.2 and upgraded to 5 by hopping equo over to 5 and updating all packages.
I believed all was good, until an attempt was made to update/install anything.

Equo fails on "sqlite3.OperationalError: table packagesignatures has 5 columns but 4 values were supplied"

(please see pastebin http://pastebin.com/m1da89e8d for a similar issue.)

I am not infront of the pc right now, so I can't supply direct info here. I will update this post more when I return to the system in question. Right now, I am just hoping for a pointer in the right direction.

Thanks guys.

Just a quick question, after you hopped to branch five, did you immediately do the following two things:

Code: Select all
#equo update
#equo install equo

Yes.
Once I get back infront of the system, I'll post more details.

Ok, I dug a little bit. Just update entropy to latest version from Portage (emerge --sync && layman -s sabayon && emerge entropy equo && equo update && equo install entropy)

Will do. Thanks!
I'm impressed you were able to figure out the problem without real information.
I will update this post once I've followed your directions. I am still at work and have lost ssh through my vpn to access the affected system. I will have physical access to the system in three hours.

Thanks again.

Not a problem, and sorry! Entropy from branch4 had a db schema update backported but the only version available in branch 5 featuring the same change was in sabayon-limbo repository.

Oops - emerge entropy equo - failed. I tried through the vpn - now I am going to wait for physical access.

See - http://pastebin.com/m4ee4c466

BTW - No need for an apology :) Your help is greatly appreciated!

Okay - got a little closer.

layman -s sabayon wouldn't run - so I had to equo install layman - it still died once it tried to update the signature database, but at least it installed... I think.

After the equo - I received:
http://pastebin.com/f5eb19c31

So, I 'emerge layman' and it timed out on the server, so I brute force remove and re-add sabayon (layman -d sabayon && layman -a sabayon), which was successful (no errors)

"emerge entropy equo" ran - no angry errors (http://pastebin.com/f444624a2)

"equo update" then ran unhappily - bug reported - see pastebin (http://pastebin.com/f1951b2ec)

Okay - dinner for now - I will bash more later.

Okay - I am now getting a new error - the folder '/var/lib/entropy/caches/' exists and is killing package updates.
I run equo world and it reports > 1000 packages to update. It'll run for 16 - 30 of them then it dies requesting a bug report being filed.

I am just plugging through it - errors and all.

This should be fixed in 0.99.20.17. I blame git this time, it ate my commit!
