repo 1373 updates weirdness

Post by demianx681 » Mon Jan 04, 2010 11:26

Hi,

some pkgs in repo 1373 need as dep openvz-sources.2.6.27.2.1-r2.
They are 43961 wine,7625 pommed,18750 hal.

Is everything ok?

Thxs

Yeah we know about this (false dep).
It does NO harm it only eats some MB's from your disc.

Lxnay will have a look at it soon and it will possibly resolved later today.

Question 1:
Could you try to tar /var/lib/entropy/client/database/<arch>/sabayonlinux.org and upload the content somewhere?
Question 2:
After having backed up your current repo, could you try to run "FORCE_EAPI=2 equo update --force" and check again if you get openvz-sources pulled in?

It's a problem (perhaps) in old style virtuals. Joost, could you bump gentoo-sources in sabayonlinux.org, after user answered my questions? Current Gentoo profile sets sys-kernel/gentoo-sources as default virtual, if after having bumped gentoo-sources we get that as dep of "virtual/linux-sources", we would have to override gentoo default setting.

Keep me updated, I can fix this in my next coding session ;)

Ok now that I have cleared my mind by looking at source code, I recall to have introduced build dependencies into package metadata but to make Entropy filter them (to not get these pulled in as dependency) you need to update it. So, if you update the whole entropy stuff (equo install sys-apps/entropy), you should not get openvz-sources (or to be more precise virtual/linux-sources) pulled in anymore.

hi i've just installed sabayon yesterday after i got tired of gentoo
and i did update equo
but still mplayer to install brings along 500MiB dependencies incl. openv-sources :) if i use equo
good ol' emerge -pv doesn't

i'm not yet familiar with repo stuff.. why is this happening? can I fix it manually in a config or something?

Yes, just install entropy first

Code: Select all

equo install entropy --relaxed

anyway, RESOLVED by recent equo stuff update today (0.99.20.16), thank you very much :D :D
i was in doubt emerging mplayer from source :) now I need not! advise changing the topic line
