Nvidia Drivers 190.53

Post by kerick » Thu Dec 17, 2009 18:48

Hello,

Can we get the new nvidia drivers into limbo quickly? I have dual 8800GTXes running multi-displays and the useevents change doesn't seem to work for me (strange, I know). However, I installed the new drivers from nvidia last night after the 190.42 wrecked my machine for the 4th time (I've moved distros that many times because maintainers keep releasing it) and it fixed the problem :). I see gentoo just pumped out the ebuild...

Thanks, I REALLY would appreciate it!

I would jump onto IRC and catch an entropy maintainer (joost / tangent) and they should be able to add it straight away. I would also head over to the bugzilla and put in a bump request (thats what it is there for afterall!)

i have an Nvidia 8600 GT. i had very bad results with the drivers series 190!
slow effects, many crashs in sabayon and gentoo and also in mandriva...!
i still use the 185 series, at least with my video board, they are better and faster...
i;m using 185 series in sabayon, gentoo, mandriva and OpenSUSE distros.

I have tried the drivers 190.53 with Sabayon 5.1 KDE 64/32Bit and Nvidia 8500GT.
I have not had any problem.....for now!
With the test of the small wheels (glxgears) the fps are attested around 1850.
Good Sabayon!

hummmm .... me too upgraded to v190.53 and still compositing effect is working well ...

and Option "UseEvents" "True" ... still working:

Code: Select all

glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
25493 frames in 5.0 seconds = 5098.520 FPS
25389 frames in 5.0 seconds = 5077.763 FPS
24527 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4905.354 FPS
24901 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4979.959 FPS
