Post by gnosti » Mon Sep 07, 2009 11:55

I was wanting update my 4.2 installation, however I was wondering if the steps required to world update in 4.1 were also necessary in 4.2. Thanks

That was a bit vague, I apologize. What I meant was do I need to eselect the kernel and eselect the nvidia drivers like you do with 4.1

It only takes a min. to check, I would and do it all the time after an update. Just to make sure things are as they should be.
eselect kernel list and eselect opengl list only shows what is set. No harm in looking. Also I use older drivers on some computers.
You can call it a chore or perfect it as an art, a little practice and you will develop your own style of updating.
Have fun

all depends on what gets update, as stated, no harm looking and making sure
