It don't depends by Firefox but by the architecture of your Sabayon Linux. I can read you have the 64bit version. Just use

eselect java-nsplugin set 64bit 2

and your Java will work.
Being sincere however, I think your configuration is already right.

eselect it a useful configuration tool, you can choose what kind of different implementation of the same thing you want to use and it provides to configure your system accordingly.

Thanks for the quick reply. Seems that I had grabbed the interim ff3.5 build that had some issues. I removed it and installed ff3.5.1-r11 from entropy and all seems well. At least with java. Now on to mozplugger and embedding pdf's.
