Sabayon Linux 5.3 GNOME and KDE: Stable release
Re: Sabayon Linux 5.3 GNOME and KDE: Stable release
Ok, I'll check the AMD 64 version , thanks.
Re: Sabayon Linux 5.3 GNOME and KDE: Stable release
Yep, it's working :-)
Re: Sabayon Linux 5.3 GNOME and KDE: Stable release
amd64 works on Intel 64 bit processors as they use the same instruction sets (except the Intel Itanium). Many refer to it as x86_64, which is a more vendor neutral term, but it's the same specification.
Re: Sabayon Linux 5.3 GNOME and KDE: Stable release
I wasn't sure, exactly because the Itanium...

Great work!!! :lxnay wrote:Yeah sorry about that, we had a small time frame where Entropy pulled in the new kernel due to a badly written package dependency (ati-drivers).
After 5.3 upgrade the root command:/revdep-rebuild requires /usr/lib/libGL.la resulting in 14 packages to re-emerge. Cross fingers - ok so far.
Re: Sabayon Linux 5.3 GNOME and KDE: Stable release
False positive. (install lafilefixer && lafilefixer --justfixit)After 5.3 upgrade the root command:/revdep-rebuild requires /usr/lib/libGL.la resulting in 14 packages to re-emerge.
Never run revdep rebuild if you use Entropy by the way.

Thanks. And I get this:joost wrote:False positive. (install lafilefixer && lafilefixer --justfixit)After 5.3 upgrade the root command:/revdep-rebuild requires /usr/lib/libGL.la resulting in 28 packages to re-emerge.

root>install lafilefixer && lafilefixer --justfixit
install: missing destination file operand after `lafilefixer'
Try `install --help' for more information.

Well, did you try 'install --help'? ;)mktyap wrote:Thanks. And I get this:joost wrote:False positive. (install lafilefixer && lafilefixer --justfixit)After 5.3 upgrade the root command:/revdep-rebuild requires /usr/lib/libGL.la resulting in 28 packages to re-emerge.

Tells you the correct syntax for 'install'...and it also tells you you should use your package manager instead.
(Joost: didn't you mean 'equo install lafilefixer' instead of 'install lafilefixer' there?)
It's in Entropy, and it's installed by default:
Code: Select all
