I would like to stress a known issue with the Users and Groups, do not use this as it is wiping out all accounts.

example of adding user john along with the groups users, wheel, audio (add whatever groups you need)
Code: Select all
# useradd -m -G users,wheel,audio -s /bin/bash john

Code: Select all
# passwd john
Password: (Enter the password for john)
Re-enter password: (Re-enter the password to verify)

logout and than you will be able to log in with new user name

Excellent thanks. I'll probably wait for KDE as well. I assume it will be KDE 4.2? :-) I'm too picky.

Love the artwork. The other day I got it by surprise through entropy and it definitely calms the nerves. You want me to freak out, have entropy replace my splash screen with a Windows 7 logo.

Waiting for the KDE version, as well. I recently got a chance to see the KDE 4.2 artwork, and I really like it. GNOME just isn't for me, though - to me, it feels like a fat person, where KDE feels like a muscular person - they weigh the same, as far as system resources go, but KDE can do things that most other DEs can't, while GNOME usually doesn't bother to get up from the couch when you tell it to do something.

I feel very disturbed by my analogy.

weird analogy, but this thread isn't about a Desktop Environment Flame, it's about the release of the Gnome edition.

what you use is your preferences, the moment you try to justify it, we all need flame suits, so lets keep the discussion to the release of Gnome editon, flaming will be deleted.

Sorry wolfden - I meant the Sabayon 4.1 artwork, not the KDE artwork. Very nice.

For those of us who may decide to install 4.1 Gnome now, would we be missing anything 4.1 KDE has to offer if we installed KDE-base and KDE-meta after the 4.1 KDE dvd is released? I guess what I meant to ask is should regular Sabayon fans stick with one or the other for a better experience?

Thanks!
