DNScrypt - how to?

Post by Tedel » Sun Jun 25, 2017 4:31

Hi,

My ISP has blocked port 53 in their service, so I can't use the alternative and privacy-concerned DNS servers I am used to. Searching online, I found DNScrypt might be an alternative for me, but to be honest I failed to configure it. There is not any "how to" in the Wiki.

Can anyone help, please? I noticed Sabayon already has Dnsmasq, so I think I would like to use it along with DNScrypt (unless you suggest me a better alternative, of course). :)

Ok, I could make it work, but I cannot make it stick yet. I have to open a console and call the command manually…

dnscrypt-proxy {location of the configuration file}

This should be the easy part… How do I make that instruction execute itself every time the computer is turned on, and for all users, please? :oops:

There is a dnscrypt-proxy.socket file in /etc/systemd/system/, but it is empty.
