Kgpg fails to decrypt [Solved]

Post by Tedel » Thu Jan 12, 2017 23:52

Hi,

Before I file a bug, I want to ask here if anybody is experiencing (or has solved) the same problem.

I have encrypted files in my computer. I used to use Kgpg to both encrypt and decrypt them. The usual behaviour was to request the key password to decrypt in a small screen dialogue.

However, after the last upgrade (16.12), when I try to decrypt, nothing happens. First, I was a bit scared, but running gpg file.asc in Konsole works, so I guess it is a problem with Kgpg only.

Encrypting works normally. You choose the key and you get an encrypted file short after.

Any hints, please?

Have you tried using kde-apps/kleopatra instead? That is what I use and so far I have not had any trouble with it.

Hey! Kleopatra is working!

Thank you for the suggestion. I will use this one in the meantime.

Thanks.

Ok, it seems that the automatic transition from the KDE4 version to the KDE5 version failed.

When I created a new key pair in Kgpg version 5, everything worked flawlessly.

Marking as solved.
