If you look at the output you posted:

configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool

Seems you need to have dev-perl/XML-Parser installed. Try installing it from Entropy:

equo install XML-Parser

then try again to merge kdeconnect. If that doesn't work, try installing XML-Parser from Portage:

You need to open some ports:

I just used the KDE utility to open those ports. Everything is working now! :)

Firewall Enable
Default Outgoing Policy: Allow
Default Incoming Policy: Deny
Two rules to allow 1714:1764 for TCP and UDP to allow incoming.

I had the same issue. Just install avahi from Rigo and then try again. It will work!

My next beast is getting Pipelight to work. My choices are compiling patched wine from source or waiting it out for the distro to fix this.

Probably the emerge sync all, layman sync all, and then emerge the newest version.

I also saw a gui frontend of portage called porthole in entropy. Kind of reminds me of synaptics. I had to modify the link to do kdesu in the menu to get it to work properly though since it didn't prompt me for my root password.

To be precise:

# emerge --sync
# layman --sync-all
# emerge -1v kdeconnect

But why don't you file a request for KDE Connect to be built and added to the Entropy repositories? You can do that by clicking on the link 'Bugs' at the top of this page. That way you would only need to do:

Code: Select all
# equo install kdeconnect

to install it, and the usual:

Code: Select all
# equo update && equo upgrade

to upgrade it (and the rest of your installed Entropy packages) to the latest version in the Entropy repositories.
