Decibel Audio Player Crazy Behavior! [Solved]

Postby eor2004 » Wed Dec 18, 2013 5:03

Everytime I try to play my mp3 collection using Decibel Audio Player it starts to open multiple instances instead of one, for example, if I try to play 30 mp3 songs, it opens 30 audio player instances making my system very sluggish, sometimes my system freezes, I had to press the reset button!

So I was wondering if anyone knows how to make decibel to open only one player at a time when trying to play multiple audio files???

I believe this is a known bug.
This is due to a lacking
argument in the Exec entry in the desktop file. In fact, the Freedesktop
specifications
(http://standards.freedesktop.org/deskto ... 01s06.html) mentions
that with %f, the system should assume that the application can't manage
multiple files on its command line, and should run multiple instances,
whereas with %F, all files can be pushed to the same single instance.

It's fixed from version 1.07, but Entropy, as well as Portage provides only version 1.04
You could request a version bump to 1.07 or latest: 1.08

I'm using Sabayon MATE 64 right now and cannot reproduce this bug, so I think it has been fixed, thanks! :D
