no plymouth on cryptroot

Post by bahamutsfire » Tue Dec 03, 2013 3:37

Hi everyone, i'm using sabayon with a full cryptes root. After i typed in the password plymouth prints this error message

Code: Select all

could not write pid file /var/run/plymouth/pid: Read-only file system

i already changed the pid file path to /var/run/ but same error with changed path. As far as i unterstand /var/run it's an tmpfs so why can't plymouth write to it?

here is my grub.cfg sniplet

Code: Select all

echo    'Loading Linux x86_64-3.12.0-sabayon ...'
        linux   /kernel-genkernel-x86_64-3.12.0-sabayon init=/linuxrc splash=silent,theme:sabayon gfxpayload=1366x768x32 console=tty1 quiet root=/dev/mapper/root crypt_root=UUID=402477c0-4980-4e62-a415-74f6c5c9c785 docrypt root_trim=yes plymouth:debug
        echo    'Loading initial ramdisk ...'
        initrd  /initramfs-genkernel-x86_64-3.12.0-sabayon

Debug mode for plymouth is set to generate a log file.
Anyone knows whats wrong? Thanks for your time.
