Systemd can't mount luks [Solved]

Postby bahamutsfire » Sat Aug 03, 2013 18:43

Hi everyone,

i have a crypted home partition and use a key file to open it on boot.

Code: Select all
/etc/conf.d/dmcrypt

#home
target=crypt-home
source='/dev/disk/by-uuid/d1201139-06e5-4841-b750-45fd00f663b9'
key='/opt/crypt/key.file'

Code: Select all
/etc/fstab

/dev/mapper/crypt-home           /home             ext4    defaults,noatime      1 2

While using openrc everthing works fine but on systemd i got a timeout...
Code: Select all
systemctl status cryptsetup.service
cryptsetup.service
   Loaded: error (Reason: No such file or directory)
   Active: inactive (dead)

Code: Select all
journalctl

Aug 03 18:57:01 sabayon systemd[1]: Job dev-mapper-crypt\x2dhome.device/start timed out.
Aug 03 18:57:01 sabayon systemd[1]: Timed out waiting for device dev-mapper-crypt\x2dhome.device.
Aug 03 18:57:01 sabayon systemd[1]: Dependency failed for /home.
Aug 03 18:57:01 sabayon systemd[1]: Dependency failed for Local File Systems.
Aug 03 18:57:01 sabayon systemd[1]: Triggering OnFailure= dependencies of local-fs.target.
Aug 03 18:57:01 sabayon systemd[1]: Dependency failed for File System Check on /dev/mapper/crypt-home.

I used eselect to switch to systemd did i missed something? Thank you for your time.

P.S: In rescue shell cryptsetup open works fine...

Ok i helped myself. I made a /etc/crypttab with my settings. Normaly Gentoo don't use crypttab, but systemd generate their service file using it. Sooo who is wrong?

For others:
Code: Select all
[email protected] ~ $ cat /etc/crypttab
crypt-home      /dev/disk/by-uuid/d1201139-06e5-4841-b750-45fd00f663b9  /opt/crypt/key.file luks

this is my config now.
