How to install RSS plugin for Evolution mail

Postby Honeyman » Tue Jul 23, 2013 22:49

Hi,

I wanted to add a RSS feed to my mail accounts set up in Evolution. The necessary RSS plugin apparently is not installed, as there is no option to add a news feed in the Preferences section as there should be for what I have read. So I looked for the package via entropy but could find none. Neither searching for evolution nor rss brought up relevant results. I have the Sabayon-weekly repositories configured. The version of Evolution installed is 3.8.3

Do I have to install it manually?

In case this is the wrong forum I put my question in, feel free to move it to a more appropriate place.

Seems it needs to be installed separately: gnome-extra/evolution-rss.
There are older ebuilds in the sunrise and bgo overlays and gentoo bugzila.

If you are not able to install it on your own using Portage, make a package request.

I looked for the package gnome-extra/evolution-rss but couldn't find it in the sabayon-weekly repository. So I guess I will have to take a stab at Portage.

Thanks for your help

Not only that it isn't in Entropy, it isn't in the main Portage tree even.
Therefore I suggested to make a package request.
