Javac disapperead [Solved]

Postby elvis » Tue Apr 30, 2013 19:30

Hi all. Today I have realized that javac is no more available in my terminal ("command not found"). Previously I have always used it, it was fully working. I have the latest JDK 1.7 version.

So, I checked my environment:

Code: Select all
$ env | grep java
MANPATH=/etc/java-config-2/current-system-vm/man:/usr/local/share/man:/usr/share/man:/usr/share/gcc-data/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.6.3/man:/usr/share/binutils-data/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/2.22/man:/etc/java-config-2/current-system-vm/man/
JAVA_HOME=/etc/java-config-2/current-system-vm
JAVAC=/etc/java-config-2/current-system-vm/bin/javac
JDK_HOME=/etc/java-config-2/current-system-vm

Indeed javac (and all java stuff) is in /etc/java-config-2/current-system-vm/

So,
(1) Why javac is no more reachable and
(2) How can I fix it?
Should I add the previous directory to my $PATH ?

Solved with "eselect java-vm set user 1" (where 1 was the only entry available). Thank you.
