MariaDB / MySQL issue.

Postby simonorono » Sun Mar 31, 2013 18:21

Greetings.

I'm trying to install MariaDB, but whenever I execute:
Code: Select all
equo i mariadb -a

it tries to uninstall MySQL, which is fine, but when it calculates the reverse dependencies even KDE is going to be uninstalled.

Has anyone solved this?

Since it is controlled through a virtual package I'd try this:

Code: Select all
# equo remove dev-db/mysql --nodeps
# equo install dev-db/mariadb

To be sure:

Code: Select all
# equo deptest

Maybe there are packages depending exclusively against dev-db/mysql?

This worked out. Thanks a lot.
