Suggestions for news reader software? [Solved]

Postby greendave8 » Mon Jan 28, 2013 12:54

Hi All,

I have been using Pan0.137 newsreader for some time now, but its becoming increasingly slower. I dont know why this is, everything else seems fine.

I am looking for other suggestions to use for reading news groups. Advice welcomed....

Cheers
gd8 :)

Thunderbird works quite well.

Hm, I'm using Tickr, but it's somewhat buggy. So I'm testing newsbeuter and Claw's Mail, too …

Hm, maybe I should look for this old KDE 3 program, which was embedded in the taskbar and not ported to KDE 4 … I liked it …

All of them I think. Thunderbird certainly does all and, to my mind, is the only piece of news and mail software to compare with a programme called Turnpike which is the one thing I regretted losing when I moved to Linux.

you may try thunderbird, evolution or a suite of browser, mail client and newsgroup reader, as Mozilla SeaMonkey
