XBMC needs hardware accelerated OpenGl rendering

Postby papilello » Wed Dec 12, 2012 23:52

I've just started working with Sabayon KDE on my old DELL inspiron 1100 and it works very good; I can say that's the best distribution I've ever tryed on my computer.
The only problem, at the moment, is that XBMC doesn't work because it needs hardware accelerated OpenGl rendering.
I haven't understood what is the driver I'm supposed to install, but I remeber that when I started using sabayon 5 GNOME, a couple of years ago, on the same PC, XBMC used to work wery well.
How can I try to solve this minor problem, with no risks for the wonderful stability that my Dell has now?

thanks

Hi,

Can you list your video card?

as root, try this and post the output.
Code: Select all
lspci|grep VGA

Cheers and happy new year!
