.WM, .WMA, .WMV -files and watching them in Firefox

Postby Pontux » Fri Apr 24, 2009 20:04

Those files aren't working out of box and haven't found solution yet to watch em in Firefox.

Web TV's like http://areena.yle.fi doesn't work at all in firefox. Have you been able to make these formats to work. I have Sabayon 4.1 Gnome installed on my laptop and this is so far only mediafile probleam, I've had. So I don't want to change distro cause of this.

Nice. Should I do something for my plugins or programs? I have plenty of plugins(also VLC) in use when i check them from firefox add-on menu. But how do I configure VLC for example to be default?

try opening the stream in totem it should prompt you for the correct plugin package to install.

failing that try to install all gst-plugin packages
If you check the wiki, use the search function and google you can find the answer to most of your questions.

For playing windows media formats I recommend vlc and an addon for Firefox called mediaplayerconnectivity.
