Yes. I did a clean install of 4 r1 (x86_64) and the same happens. Ark works OK from a terminal but not from the KDE menu or by a right click within KDE.

Try logging into gnome and using the archiver it worked for me. As a matter of fact Gnome seems to be more stable then Kde.

Hi, i've updated ark with

emerge -u kde-base/ark


(now version 4.1.4) but from the context menu doesn't work. With double click and then extract works.

Any ideas?

The recompiled version 3.5.10 in entropy works perfectly now
