googleearth crashes

i all
i installed 3.5 x86_64 on may sony vaio. the graphics card in an intel "intel Graphics Media Accelarator X3100"
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)
kernel module: i915
where running googleearth from a shell i get this message
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x74

then it freezes for a while and kabum... the "monitor seems to turn on and off" and i am stuck.
any ideas??

ps. same happens whether compiz is on or off

What version of media-libs/mesa is installed on your PC?

Also, Googling your error message throws up a few suggestions, such as the work-around:

$ export LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=true

which you could try.

You could also try editing the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf and changing the video driver to vesa if it is not already that.
