For now I just switched to smplayer because it not crashing when using VDPau. It looks like VLC build in sabayon is not stable.

I think it depends on VLC hardware acceleration + nvidia

For me , VLC runs fine on GPU Intel and HW acceleration enabled

For me, SMPlayer has issues too, because sound and image are desynchronizing often.

I've had vlc crash on me and I'm using an AMD GPU. I'm wondering if something wasn't quite re-compiled when we switched back to ffmpeg.
