It may be something very obvious that I missed since I am not familiar with Gentoo or Sabayon specifics, but I just downloaded the Saboyon 14.01 GNOME ISO to install in VirtualBox to see how I liked Sabayon.
The installation process went smoothly, and I encountered no errors. However, after the post-install reboot I didn't see my local user that I created during the install process. I only see a user called 'Sabayon', which didn't seem that normal since there is no point to ask for a username if it won't be created.
I verified that the user didn't exist on the system by checking for an entry /etc/passwd
Here are the VirtualBox configurations I used when installing Sabayon:
Code: Select all
Architecture : Gentoo (64 bit) RAM : 1 GB CPUs : 1 DISK : 12 GB
