Where is /etc/rc0.d? (solved)

Post by forest » Thu Apr 05, 2007 18:30

I am installing vmware workstation under sabayon that is supposed to be like gentoo, but the rcx.d folders are missing in /etc.
What is the directory that contains the init directories (rc0.d/ to
rc6.d/)?
How can I solve that?

[email protected] ~ $ locate rc0.d
/etc/vmware/init.d/rc0.d
/etc/vmware/init.d/rc0.d/.keep_app-emulation_vmware-server-0
/etc/vmware/init.d/rc0.d/K08vmware

Thanks for your suggestion, but that dirs do not exist on my system. I workarounded that:

http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Install_VMWare_Server

I had to create the folders manually.

use emerge to install vmware, it will set all the directories for you.

Thanks for the tip. I was used to install closed source apps via its own installer.
