Help me install USB modem driver please

Post by Beatnik » Tue Mar 13, 2007 23:32

This is my problem:
Installed Sabayon 3.26 DVD but internet is not working.
My USB - ADSL modem model is Zyxel Prestige 630-11.

Downloaded this file:
amedyn-2006-09-28.tar.gz

from

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=84006
but dont know how to install it.
It is a compressed file full of scripts and things I dont understand.
Could someone please download this little file (102kb), and tell me how to install it

This is really frustrating, not having internet access with sabayon.

Help me please
Thanks for your answers

Can you get an ordinary DSL modem? Often they are much easier to get working and you can just plug in your ethernet card.

I did a search in Gentoo Forums for your USB modem and found this thread

Did you try using the ethernet port instead?
What about connecting your usb port directly to your usb port instead through a usb hub?

Some guy got his to work, and here's how.

Code: Select all

Correct link to for driver.

Code: Select all

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=47406&package_id=144429&release_id=305556
Hoped that helped.
