I was sent here from another discussion, which to my mind was not finished but it got locked anyhow. Apparently I have "Weekly" enabled, and cannot match the checksums to upgrade. I just tried the first line of the solution in this string, and got the following code:

[email protected] ~ $ su
Password:
zaivala-pc /home/zaivala # equo repo enable sabayonlinux.org
☛ [sabayonlinux.org] repository not available
zaivala-pc /home/zaivala #

So now what do I do?

Try the "manual" approach as described in the wiki: enabling a different repository or mirror

Code: Select all

# cd /etc/entropy/repositories.conf.d
# mv entropy_sabayonlinux.org.example entropy_sabayonlinux.org
# equo update

Can you provide us a timeline when sabayon-weekly will be available again. I don't want to switch my development machine to an unstable os-branch. Thank you.

Honestly, they might not fix it. The devs are looking to migrate from Sabayon to a new OS.

Thanks for letting me know, Sabayon was my favorite distro. It seams I need a new one.

Mocaccino OS is under development
For intrepid users that want convert their SabayonOS to MocaccinoOS :
https://www.mocaccino.org/docs/portagetree/

Of course, you are welcome to make a backup of your data and system image before upgrading

we're going off-topic .ì

I think we are sill on topic ;)
Not sure if weekly gets bumped at all, so the only option now is move to main.
As the devs have confirmed, Mocaccino is the future of Sabayon. And it' supposed to come rather quickly.
If we are lucky, Sabayon will get security updates for a short while.
We can migrate to Mocaccino then or to another distro. Better to keep an eye on Mocaccino so you can make an informed decision ;)
