Android emulators?

Post by msdobrescu » Fri May 01, 2020 13:33

Hello, what options do we have for Android emulators?
Is it possible to add Anbox, for instance?
Their deployment has two means, built by source + kernel modules, or snap package.
Snap is not available either, AFAIK, on Sabayon.

What options do we have?
What other options do we have?

Thanks.

Hello,
I installed Android Studio for Linux: https://developer.android.com/studio/install
It's a tar file ... android-studio-ide-xxx-linux.tar.gz
Just unpack and run studio.sh (cd android-studio/bin and ./studio.sh)
Then you've to configure a lot, creating a project type for an android version.
I had no trouble running the studio in my Sabayon environment(sabayonlinux.org, Revision: 4085)

Thanks, I am not interested in developing, just running some Android apps.

The best Android emulators for gaming include Bluestacks, MeMu, KoPlayer, and Nox. The second most common use case is development.

Sorry, I was not clear. None on Sabayon, except for the Android Studio, right?

None in entropy perhaps, but you could certainly install a number of them fairly easily outside of the package manager. genymotion is in the main portage tree, for instance.
