Home server

Post by dangdongho3 » Fri Feb 23, 2018 2:08

Hi guys,
I'm studying for a CompTIA Linux+ LPIC-1 exam and I'd like to install a home server instead of my NAS. I'm thinking about Debian or Sabayon but asking here because Debian forum users are extremely unfriendly in my opinion. I'd appreciate any help regarding the topic such as partition layout, probably some file/email server recommendations. I'd probably create some basic personal webpage too as a part of the exam study. Thanks for your help!!

Hi and welcome on SabayonLinux Community

there is this my old post and this WHow-to how to setup Apache/mySQL service (not for mail server , I can't help you)

If your goal is to setup a simply nfs/rsync server please try to check Sabayon-Wiki and Gentoo-Wiki.

Consider to install Sabayon Server image . It is available on Sabayon mirrors
[Che Cos'è Il Calcolo Distribuito (BOINC)

BOINC ready ! Sabayon+BOINC = BILD ,my Sabayon spin :cyclops: - Ready to crunch for the Science everywhere :)

Consider maybe LAMPP (Apache) option...
