Hallo...
How do you think about downloading (and installing) a monthly iso build, e.g. here:
ftp://ftp.surfnet.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/sabayonlinux/iso/monthly/
or, most actual, including packages updates, a daily build, e.g. here:
ftp://ftp.surfnet.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/sabayonlinux/iso/daily/
On this websites / directories you can chose your favourite distro then.
I just have downloaded the last daily build from 26/03/2014. I will install completely new, because 298 updates now are too much for me.
Much success...

you dont need to wait the next version.
try installing the last Daily build.
However, in few time, you will see many upgrades, this is a "normal" behaviour
in Rolling Release Distros.

Not really. This is a "Rolling Release". If you want more stability, maybe better wait for the next official Sabayon. I guess it will come in April. When you boot with a Sabayon Live System (with USB or DVD) then you can check some, resp. many features before you install definitely. Anyway, I recommend to backup your last 'stable' system always before you want to update that system.

I have downloaded sabayon mate 64bit daily iso but was not able to install it to hard disk no matter what I tried, only to use it as a live dvd.

So I took an old sabayon 13.08 mate 64bit dvd that I had around and installed it, then followed the instructions here: https://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?title=En:Entropy#Fresh_Install_-_What_to_do.3F and after a couple of hours updating and installing applications everything went well, no problems at all!

That's right. In actual daily build, there is a bug, as I have experienced myself. It matters KDE and XFCE (I assume all DE). I've opened a thread (here):
https://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=31591
Anyway, if you are content with your version just now, it is fine.
Have fun now. There has been changing a lot.

it's likely soon ;-) usually once the update number exceeds 500 packages from the install ISO (random observation) the next release is soon to be available.

Hi, wondering why there's no announcement of the release of Sabayon 14.04 on the Sabayon main webpage (sabayon.org)?

There's an announcement in Google+ webpage but not in Sabayon main!
