Post by cylent » Tue Dec 31, 2013 8:00

if i want to recompile the kernel ... because i simply want to tweak it a bit more...

do i just follow the gentoo guide: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/articles/l ... piling.xml????

or does sabayon have different ways of doing things?

See the SL Wiki article HOWTO: Upgrade kernel using genkernel, although I don't know if it's up to date.

got stuck

Code: Select all

localhost ahmad # USE="sources_standalone" emerge sabayon-sources

 * IMPORTANT: 10 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.
 * Use eselect news to read news items.

Calculating dependencies... done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "sabayon-sources".

emerge: searching for similar names...
emerge: Maybe you meant any of these: sys-kernel/rsbac-sources, app-misc/sabayon-mce, sys-kernel/xbox-sources?
localhost ahmad #

There is an ebuild in the sabayon-distro overlay: https://github.com/Sabayon/sabayon-dist ... on-sources

Make sure you have synchronised with the overlay correctly:

Code: Select all

equo install git
emerge --sync
layman -S
layman -d sabayon-distro
layman -d sabayon
layman -a sabayon-distro
layman -a sabayon
Then try the merge again.
