No plymouth at boot

Postby Provia » Thu Nov 28, 2013 14:36

Hi,
i've installed SL 13.08 xfce x64 and i've installed all the updates.
When i boot up my pc i can't see the plymouth splash screen, just a loading bar in the bottom of the screen. But when i restart the system the shutdown splash is showed correctly.
Is there any way to set plymouth splash at boot?

Thank you

The sabayon theme should be the default, but if that's set correctly, you may be having another unrelated problem...

Can you try setting the theme using:
Code: Select all
plymouth-set-default-theme sabayon

Then, if this doesn't work, could you paste the output of:
Code: Select all
cat /proc/cmdline
journalctl -b

The plymouth-set don't change the situation.
Here's the output of cat /proc/cmdline:
Code: Select all
sabayon-netbook-1 giacomo # cat /proc/cmdline
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/kernel-genkernel-x86_64-3.12.0-sabayon root=UUID=3d007569-fc04-497a-a86e-6fb979aaf729 ro ipv6.disable=1 splash vga=791 quiet dokeymap keymap=it domdadm resume=swap:UUID=d3030a0f-1ea4-4a74-8677-4100030f94ec real_resume=UUID=d3030a0f-1ea4-4a74-8677-4100030f94ec dolvm root=UUID=3d007569-fc04-497a-a86e-6fb979aaf729 docrypt

and journalctl -b:
Code: Select all
sabayon-netbook-1 giacomo # journalctl -b

The journalctl -b output is incomplete. You need to redirect it to a file and then open the file.
