"Developers deny Gnome dependent on systemd"
In the meantime, Sabayon MATE 13.11 boots fine but then I'm left scrambling for systemd scripts, for example for ipblock.
Shaving off 2s from boot time and following the hype about systemd do not compensate for the important reasons not to adopt systemd:
- Hard-to-debug monolithic startup in undocumented C
Size and complexity: 900 files, 224k lines
Systemd appears to be another "Linux Gnome Shell" story of some developers charging in an umwanted and unecessary direction.
Do Sabayon server flavors also run systemd by default?
Suggest an Anaconda flag to give users choice.
Switching back to openrc. Will "equo remove" the following be sufficient to get rid of systemd?
