Postby evgeniusx » Thu Oct 24, 2013 14:07

Is there any way to boot the iso from usb with grub2, for example ubuntu?

Code: Select all
menuentry "Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop ISO" {
 loopback loop /ubuntu.iso
 linux (loop)/casper/vmlinuz boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/ubuntu.iso noeject noprompt splash --
 initrd (loop)/casper/initrd.lz
}

Have a look at the gentoo grub2 wiki:

http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/GRUB2#ISO_images

I've tried all the options to boot from http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/GRUB2#ISO_images , but I could not. If anyone has any experience with this, share it.

I solved my problem

Code: Select all
menuentry "Sabayon_Linux_DAILY_amd64_KDE" {
        loopback loop /Sabayon_Linux_DAILY_amd64_KDE.iso
        linux (loop)/boot/sabayon root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc dokeymap looptype=squashfs aufs loop=/livecd.squashfs cdroot initrd=sabayon.igz vga=791 isoboot=/Sabayon_Linux_DAILY_amd64_KDE.iso
        initrd (loop)/boot/sabayon.igz
}
