Cant start graphic since last update [Solved]

Postby manifesto » Thu Aug 29, 2013 22:31

Hi,

Since last update (almost one full month away) graphic things are not working anymore.
Standard boot stop at something like : starting virtualgl and then nothing ctr-alt do not work and X do not start.
I suspect a pb with intel driver.
I dig further and go to single mode and try to startx and found the message :
Code: Select all
[   176.413] (EE) module ABI major version (13) doesn't match the server's version (14)
[   176.413] (II) UnloadModule: "intel"
[   176.413] (II) Unloading intel

So after checking some forums I found info on gentoo about reemerging drivers (which make no sense in sabayon) but just in case I remove xf86-intel-driver and then re-equo it but found it masked :
Code: Select all
>>  !!! Chaque paquet correspondant à xf86-video-intel est masqué.
>>     # Masking reason: user package.mask
>>      <> atome: x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.21.14 dans sabayonlinux.org

It is is french but it is just saying that 2.21.14 is masked and as far as I know entropy just keep one version.
So I have no more driver and if the driver is masked it means probably that the driver was bad.

What can I do to recover all this ?

Reply to myself as no reply ;-)
Actually I just remove the masked entry (>=x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.21), reinstall the package and everything went bask to normal.
I was thinking this masked entry was added by entropy itself, I dont remember have masked this but who knows.
