Cant't switch to systemd [Solved]

Post by weasel » Tue Jul 23, 2013 14:44

Ive installed a fresh 13.04 XFCE 64 bit installation. After doing all upgrades i switched to kernel 3.9.
When i tried to switch to systemd i get an error : "!!! Error: Can't load module settingsd".
Some hints would be nice.

I don't know from your post what you Did or Didn't do to make your systemd switch happen.
However, if you read my thread perhaps it will help get you started.

Well i just used " eselect sysvinit set systemd && eselect settingsd set systemd". Worked fine on my last sabayon installation.

only the first given command is sufficient.
the other, " eselect settingsd set systemd" is now deprecated.

Apparently, I had altered my grub.cfg a few months back with a init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd
... which worked until the upgrade but then after the upgrade to achieve a systemd boot I

Code: Select all

eselect sysvinit set systemd && eselect settingsd set systemd
but got an error regarding settingsd
As it is deprecated
I do now boot to systemd.
