Sabayon don't boot [Solved]

Postby woody3883 » Wed Jul 03, 2013 15:31

After the last update of sunday 30 june, sabayon won't boot anymore. Only when I go the recovery mode use ctrl-d, the computer will boot. The message I get when I'm fast enough to press alt-F1 is:

/sbin/init.d/sysvinit/init: regel 26: /sbin/init.d/sysvinit/../final/exec.sh: Bestand of map bestaat niet ( file or map doesn't exist)
Then the computer freezes after giving a kernel-panic -not syncing: Attempting to kill init!
exitcode=00007f00
Pid :1 comm : Tainted :P

Well this is abacadabra for me. I suspect something is wrong in the init script but I'm not sure.
Anyone an idea what this might be?
It happens when I use systemd but also when I use openrc.

Wout

i had a related issue also, but in systemd only.

in the grub, in the kernel line, see if the line (cheat-code) is This:

Code: Select all
real_init=/sbin/init.d/sysvinit/init

edit this Kernel line and and change it to:

Code: Select all
real_init=/sbin/init.d/sysvinit/final/init

Yes that did it. However the file grub says after changing something use grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
But I have to use grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg. That's why it took me so long to get it working. Anyway thanks for your help, I wouldn't figured it out on my own.
