I installed the latest kernel (3.9.4) via kernel-switcher:
- Code: Select all
# kernel-switcher list
...
>> @@ Package: sys-kernel/linux-sabayon-3.9.4 branch: 5, [sabayonlinux.org]

When selecting the kernel to boot version 3.9.0 is the newest kernel-switcher offers me to choose from.
Likewise, when I checked for the kernel version my system is currently running it is also 3.9.0:
- Code: Select all
$ uname -r
3.9.0-sabayon
That is not serious issue, I do not have any problems. Still, I was wondering why the exact kernel version was not displayed (The other version installed on my system is 3.7.10)? Is that because minor version upgrades do not matter much?
Thanks for your thoughts/clarifications,
Pascal
