SOLVED Newbie: Trying to run the DVD w/ISO

Post by Jim_S » Sat Dec 23, 2006 2:38

Acer Travelmate 4400 Turion 64 XP SP2 BIOS v. 1.19 set for boot from cd/dvd first, followed by boot form hard drive.
Upon startup with the disk (64 bit, v 3.2) in, it seems to be getting accessed but then Windows starts up.
Made the ISO with infra recorder. I believe that it should not be a bootable disk, but does it need an autorun file or something?

D'OH! I had clicked the wrong (copy) option in NTI CD&DVD Maker. Thanks for your suggestions. Jim S.

How will it be able to boot from the disk if you don't burn it as a bootable disk ?

-Check the MD5 to see if your dvd matches up. If it's wrong you're going to need to redownload.

Code: Select all

-Try burning it again with one of these.

Code: Select all

-Your laptop might have the ability to manually choose what drive it looks at first.
I think it's f12 or f10. It should tell you when your computer first starts up, and yes I know that f2 goes to the bios.
