Authentication stopped working after update. [Solved]

Postby limathebest » Wed Jan 16, 2013 13:55

Hello, after the last update, my SABAYON got weird.

Whenever I mount a partition or install something for RIGO, enter the password to the system informs you that it is incorrect. I'm sure the password is correct.

Already realized two new installations of 0, the problem reappears after upgrade.

I've tried reinstalling kdesu, sudo and nothing worked.

Currently I'm using Sabayon 10 with KDE. To install this version used the ISO: 09/01/2013 AMD_64.

I am awaiting a response.

Sorry for my bad English.

This is not a proper answer but it may help you get your system working:
http://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php? ... rd#p148055
Read the answer from Fitzcarraldo about using sudo to create a new password.

Authentication stopped working after update.

It did not work!

By terminal commands work normally, but if you need to use the graphical login error always occurs. Example:

I can not manage packages by Rigo.
I can not change KDM theme control panel.
Edit Firewall Settings.
Enable Automatic Login at the control panel.

Before you even type anything longer reports that an error occurred. : (

PS: Thanks for the compliment!

If it is just the KDE environment perhaps it is worth deleting .kde4 (in your home directory) and then rebooting (the .kde4 will be rebuilt automatically). You will loose any graphical changes you have made.

It did not work!

I think the problem is something related to dbus. See the message that appears.

Code: Select all
Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) (code 7)

I've tried reinstalling the Qt DBus, but not solved.

You could try
Code: Select all
 equo libtest
and
Code: Select all
equo deptest

Apart from those I'm unable to offer any more suggestions but I hope someone else may be able to. They will probably ask for some logs and I think .xsession-errors (in the home directory) might be valuable.

Same problem appeared yesterday here on both computers. "Authentification Failure" message for Rigo and when trying to access other partitions or hard drives. Will try a manual update and see what happens.

Manual upgrade did not solve the problem.
