N00bish question

Postby Torandi » Mon Dec 11, 2006 16:27

Hello.
My friend has been going on about how amazing linux is for a while now, so i decided
to try. So i decided to try sabayon, but now i've got a problem.. i'm not getting past login-screen.
There are that ugly flower in the background, and two buttons, one where you can select session type, and one with a menu. But.. how do i login?? I see myself as rather geeky and good with computers, but now i got no idee what to do.
So my question is: how do i login??

Well, I would click it if there was a green button, but there are none.
There are only a "Kind of session"- and "Menu"-button i the lower left corner. Nothing else, except time and date in the upper right corner.

Nothing.. absolutly nothing.
And now i give up. I've been spending way to many hours to get this think going. I'll try ubuntu instead, i got that one working at least.

Do you have a normal cursor or is it still an X?

in 640x480, the bar does not appear.

if you are running Sabayon live, try simply to hit "RETURN" and it should start automatically.
