Is everything OK with updates?
Considering Sabayon is rolling distribution, I expect KDE 4.7.4 to be packaged already. I am actually disturbed by lack of updates for the last week. Is my local configuration or mirror wrong? Or maybe are developers fighting to prepare a particularly complex update? I am particularly interested in installation of new AMD driver (11.12) and KDE (4.7.4), as I have a bunch of bugs I hope to have fixed by those releases.
Re: Is everything OK with updates?
By default, you have to weekly repo so you get updates weekly.
kde 4.7.4 is already in limbo repo. ati-drivers is still 11.11

Yep I am surprised no updates recently, is it pre christmas season making everybody busy far from computers ?
I checked http://packages.sabayon.org/ and saw some updates today but not yet available indeed.
Also I cant find a "by date" browse option, I looked for KDE and found 4.7.4 available in limbos.
Soon here I guess.

I must have missed something !DHalens wrote:By default, you have to weekly repo so you get updates weekly.
Weekly repository are out since some month but is it default now ?
I am running my laptop since 5.4 without changing repos, does it means I am now on weekly base update ?
I can just go to limbo to have more frequent updates ?
Re: Is everything OK with updates?
Check /etc/entropy/repositories.conf or with sulfur to see which repo/s are you using.
sabayonlinux.org is the standard repo; sabayon-weekly is the one that gets the updates from previous one every week and sabayon-limbo has things that can explode

Re: Is everything OK with updates?
ok cool ! I am still in standard mode.
Are limbo that dangerous ?
Code: Select all
repository = sabayonlinux.org|Sabayon Linux Official Repository|http://mirror.us.sabayon.org/sabayon/entropy|http://pkg.sabayon.org#bz2
repository = sabayonlinux.org||ftp://ftp.klid.dk/sabayonlinux/entropy|
....
Re: Is everything OK with updates?
Limbo can be that dangerous or can even not be that dangerous, they are meant as testing. In other words, if something blows up, you have been warned
