How can I update directly from version 6 to version 7? ;)

Thanks in advance. :)

Simply do your updates as normal, you will be on 7 .... advantage of a rolling release, no need to re-install to stay current.
Only manual update would be the kernel, use kernel-switcher for that.

The depot, even if i force the update, do not display the new kernel neither Sabayon 7.
I think i'm using the release candidate, my Kermel is 3.0_r1

Hmm, it signals me that my Sabayon is updated, but the version is still declared to be 6:

Code: Select all

[email protected] ~ $ cat /etc/sabayon-release
Sabayon Linux x86 6

afullo, I reported your problem as a bug:
https://bugs.sabayon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2771
it has been discussed and it will be fixed soon, thank you for noticing it :)

Despite that output there is no difference between an updated Sabayon 6 and Sabayon 7, on Sabayon updates = latest version.

Glad to be, although indirectly, of some help. Indeed, another check confirmed me that I have in fact version 7 of Sabayon:

I've seen today that we have an upgrade of app-misc/sabayon-version package that solves this little issue with /etc/sabayon-release
