Ibus - No input window

Postby dudumomo » Thu Oct 06, 2011 16:57

Hi there,

On a fresh install of the Daily ISO, I'm trying to use ibus to change the input time to time.
However I'm not able to use it properly.

Even after adding some languages + restart, I still see: "No input window"
I've added
export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
export XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus
export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus

to the /home/mysuer/.bashrc as stated when I launch ibus.
But still the same.

What do we need to do ?

Also, a non related question. I'd like to set a command (to start a software after gnome being launched) as a startup application. How can I do that ?

Thank you and sorry for those beginner questions.

In the advanced preferences, if I set "share the same input method among all application" I can see the list of keyboard entries.

However when I try to select one, I got:
Code: Select all
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/ibus/ui/gtk/panel.py", line 496, in __im_menu_item_activate_cb
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/ibus/inputcontext.py", line 287, in set_engine
    return self.__context.SetEngine(engine.name)
File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/proxies.py", line 143, in __call__
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/connection.py", line 630, in call_blocking
    message, timeout)
dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Failed: Can not find engine m17n:en:ispell.

Any idea why ?

And how can I add ibus to the startup ?

Thank you !
