Hi

you can use Webmin

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Webmin

You can find webmin to menelkir overlay

Run
Code: Select all
# laymna -S

Code: Select all
# layman -a menelkir

Installing webmin
Code: Select all
# emerge webmin

Start webmin
Code: Select all
# /etc/init.d/webmin start

Adding webmin to run level
Code: Select all
# rc-update add webmin default

Code: Select all
# equo rescue spmsync

Connect to host using web-browser

https://localhost:10000 for your own PC/server

or a remote host

https://IP_or_remote_host_url:10000

Now you can delete menelkir overlay if you want.

Code: Select all
# layman -d menelkir

Which parameters do you want to monitor.

If it comes to "standard" system monitoring, you could check Munin or Cacti.

Cheers

Webmin 1.560 was released on 5 Aug. 2011. An ebuild for Webmin 1.560 is in the Portage tree since 18 Sept. 2011. The reason the earlier Webmin ebuild was removed from Portage some time ago was not due to Webmin itself, but due to QA/security issues with the earlier ebuild (which had nothing to do with Webmin itself). The Gentoo ebuild has now been rewritten, and the new ebuild has been added to the Portage repository (http://packages.gentoo.org/package/app- ... arches=all), masked for the time being. So, if anyone wants to install it via Portage they need to unmask it first (HOWTO: The Complete Portage Guide).

Hi
I use Pandora FMS tool to monitoring my web.
Pandora FMS WEB monitoring is a transactional or synthetic test that truly reproduces the complete browsing "process". It could include features such as authenticating a form, doing click in a menu option, filling in a form and verifying that each process returns a specific text string. Any mistake during the process will have a checking failure as a result. The complete transaction includes the download of all the resources (graphs, animations, etc), that the real browsing has.

WEB monitoring returns a "real" user experience and reporting time of transaction. It is also able to "check" if the complete transaction is finished by checking text output response.
