How to run SabayonLinux-x86-3.2.iso from Win XP Pro.

(1) download and install vmplayer on win xp or win xp pro
(2) link to download vmplayer:
(3) make a directory sl3.2 or whatever name you choose
(4) create a file "sl.vmx" by cutting and pasting these 22 lines
config.version = "8"
virtualHW.version = "4"
scsi0.present = "FALSE"
memsize = "512"
ide1:0.present = "TRUE"
ide1:0.fileName = "SabayonLinux-x86-3.2.iso"
ide1:0.deviceType = "cdrom-image"
floppy0.present = "FALSE"
ethernet0.present = "TRUE"
usb.present = "TRUE"
sound.present = "TRUE"
sound.virtualDev = "es1371"
displayName = "SabayonLinux"
guestOS = "other26xlinux"
nvram = "other26xlinux.nvram"
ethernet0.addressType = "generated"

ethernet0.generatedAddress = "00:0c:29:58:b4:8a"
uuid.location = "56 4d 24 be 07 6f ba 1d-ab e4 28 9d b3 58 b4 8a"
uuid.bios = "56 4d 24 be 07 6f ba 1d-ab e4 28 9d b3 58 b4 8a"
ethernet0.generatedAddressOffset = "0"
checkpoint.vmState = "SabayonLinux.vmss"

(4) copy or download SabayonLinux-x86-3.2.iso to your sl3.2 directory.
(5) start the vmplayer by double clicking on the vmplayer icon on your win xp desktop
(6) navigate to the sl3.2 directory and select "sl.vmx"
(7) Now sabayon linux is running in vmplayer on win xp
(8) CTL + Alt will get you out of the vmplayer to the win xp

Here is the link where I found this info: ... e72371ce67

I still have to figure out how to access the disk partitions.
I also tested this procedure by using elive linux.
It should work for any linux distro iso live cd/dvd
